Terms of service
These terms apply when you create a 200 Online account or use the service. We've kept them as plain as we can.
1. Who you're agreeing with
200 Online is operated by [registered business name and registration number], [physical address] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using 200 Online, you agree to these terms. If you use 200 Online for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms for it, and "you" includes that business. Our full company details are on the contact page.
2. The service
200 Online lets you monitor the uptime and performance of websites, keep incident history, store website credentials, track time, manage tasks on a shared board, and, through our optional WordPress connector plugin, see and run plugin and theme updates. Features differ by plan, as shown on our pricing. We improve the service all the time, so features may change; we won't remove a core feature of a paid plan without telling you first.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate details, including a working email address that you have verified.
- Keep your password safe, and use two-factor login. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- You're responsible for the team members and clients you invite or share sites with, and for the access level you give them.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
4. Plans, payment and cancelling
- Starter is free, for up to 5 websites, with no card needed.
- Paid plans (currently Professional at R350 a month and Enterprise at R850 a month) are billed monthly in advance through Paystack, in rand.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time from your account. Your paid plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for, then moves to Starter. We don't refund part-months, except where the law requires it.
- Plan limits: if you move to a plan with a lower website limit, you keep all your existing websites and their history, but can't add or restore more until you're under the new limit. Check intervals faster than the new plan allows are slowed to its minimum.
- Price changes: we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change affects your subscription.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use 200 Online to:
- monitor, probe or connect to websites or systems you don't own or aren't authorised to manage
- overload, attack or test the security of any system, including ours
- store or share unlawful content, malware or anything that infringes someone else's rights
- get around plan limits, access controls or another user's permissions
- resell the service without our written agreement
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or security prevents it.
6. Your data, and your clients' data
Everything you put into 200 Online stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the service for you. For information about your clients, you are the responsible party under POPIA and we act as your operator, as explained in our privacy policy. You confirm you're entitled to store the credentials and client information you add.
7. What monitoring can and can't do
- Checks run from our servers. A website whose firewall or security settings block our servers can show as offline while visitors can reach it. Our guides explain how to allow our checks.
- To avoid false alarms, a failed check is retried before an incident is opened, so alerts arrive a few minutes after a problem starts. Incident times show when monitoring noticed the problem.
- Email alerts depend on email delivery, which we can't guarantee.
- Monitoring tells you about problems. It doesn't prevent them, and it isn't a backup.
8. The WordPress connector
Plugin and theme updates you run through 200 Online are carried out by WordPress on your website, at your instruction. Updates can occasionally break a website, so keep current backups before updating. We deliberately don't run WordPress core updates. You can remove the connector plugin at any time.
9. Availability
We work hard to keep 200 Online running at all times, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or problems with our providers. Where we can, we'll schedule maintenance outside South African business hours.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, including the Consumer Protection Act where it applies to you:
- 200 Online is provided "as is", and we don't guarantee that it will detect every outage or that every alert will arrive.
- We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost sales or lost data, or for downtime of the websites you monitor.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for gross negligence or fraud.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using 200 Online and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end the service for an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if we stop offering 200 Online, in which case we'll give you reasonable notice to take your information out first.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, email account holders at least 30 days before they apply. Using 200 Online after that means you accept the new terms.
13. South African law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
